Home Made BBQ Lamb Kofta

A simple yet tasty BBQ dish that is  super easy to grill and so versatile to serve – a must try!

INGREDIENTS:Home Made BBQ Lamb Kofta

  • 500 g lamb mince (a bit of fat is necessary for max flavour)
  • 1 medium brown onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tbl sp fresh parsely, finely chopped
  • 1 tbl sp fresh mint, finely chopped
  • 2 tbl sp mild paprika
  • 1 tbl sp cumin ground
  • Salt + Pepper

METHOD:

Slightly wet both hands and knead all the ingredients for 3-4 minutes and rest in the fridge for 30min.

Take a palm full sized ball (approx. 50-60 grams) of the mince and mould into an egg shaped meat ball. Using a clapping motion with palms faced inwards, slowly press the kofta balls into the desired shape. Aim to get them to around 2cm in thickness on average.

SPECIAL TIP:

Wear a pair of food grade surgical gloves to ensure you get a neat kofta everytime.

BBQ PREP:

Use a http://bit.ly/FirebrandChimneyCharcoalStarter to prepare your charcoal safely and easily. For best results light our classic briquettes and leave until white hot, about 40 minutes.

Spread your charcoal evenly around the grill to cook with the direct heat method. Then place your cooking grill on top and allow to heat up for a few minutes.

Using BBQ tongs, place each kofta onto your BBQ grill directly over the coal. Turn once the edges start to pull back meaning or after the first 3-4 minutes. Repeat on the other side until golden and slightly charred all round.

TIP! If you are feeding an army of guests, you may want to make grilling & turning a little easier by using a grilling basket to cook many at once. Check out our non-stick top seller! http://bit.ly/FirebrandNonStickGrilling
